Secondly, the medical practice is bound by a very strict code of ethics and legal statutes. These legal statutes and procedures are observed diligently as any (lacunae can lead to multi-million dollar suits). Therefore, a very high level of documentation at every stage of medical treatment is the only way to prove non-negligence in the treatment process.

These extensive documentation procedures can take major amount of doctor’s valuable time. Therefore the doctors dictate the medical reports on to the computers where it is stored as digitized audio and specialized professionals called Medical Transcriptionists convert this audio form into document form.

This is an established and mature industry in the US, UK and India as well. The market is more than US $ 20 billion in size and it is growing at a rate of 12% annually. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Department of Commerce, Government of US, estimates that this industry employs more than 350,000 MTs in the US alone.

The Training

We have a strong belief that a Transcription Company’s foundation is the quality of Transcription Training its associates acquire.

Our Mts. are recruited through implementing a very strict selection procedure. They pass through various levels of screening tests, which include a test in English, general aptitude, followed by an MT audio test to be transcribed.

They are guided, organized and trained by experienced faculty/professionals who are always on-hand to share their knowledge, expertise and to enhance and refine the skills of the trainees.

We believe in separating wheat from chaff. We mould our trainees through a rigorous training program, which comprises of an intensive coverage of theoretical as well as practical curriculum.

AAMT book of Style is strictly adhered to in our program.

The Technical Aspect

Our Production Facility consists of a highly powerful IBM x3650T Server connected to 20 Workstations on a Local Area Network. We work on Windows NT Server 4.0 Platform and Windows XP Professional on the workstation end. We have the flexibility of using any Transcription Software as per the Client’s requirement.

From the day one, the client provides us with the address of FTP; we can download and upload the data. For downloading/uploading we are using software such as Cute FTP and Core FTP, WS_FTP LE, and Ace FTP.

We have the flexibility to use various Voice Files Playing software like Play all, Worldplay, Joyscribe, Express Scribe, Crescendo, etc. which would give the Client an option for any kind of Voice File Format. To improve and enhance the productivity standards, we are using sophisticated Foot Pedals, which are compatible with all the above-mentioned software.

We are using MSOffice-XP as our Text Editor with latest Stedman’s Medical spell checker. In addition to these we are also using Quick Look Drug Index, Stedman’s Medical Dictionary 5.0, Instant Text 3, American Heritage Dictionary, Webster’s English Dictionary, and all latest Stedman’s Electronic Dictionaries.

To provide required backup in case of any power crisis, we have installed a standby 30 KVA generator at our premises, and for shorter power cuts, the company is equipped with 3 KVA online UPS to ensure smooth running and to make our working interruption free.
